What is Magic The Gathering - Feed The Clan?

Magic The Gathering - Feed The Clan is a spell card included in the Khans of Tarkir set. It allows you to gain life equal to the amount of creatures you control, which can significantly bolster your life points during gameplay. This card is particularly useful in decks focused on maintaining a strong board presence and can provide a strategic advantage in drawn-out matches. You might find it beneficial when your opponents are aggressive, as it can help you recover health when taking damage.

How does Feed The Clan fit into different deck strategies?

Feed The Clan is versatile in its utility, making it suitable for various deck strategies, especially those that emphasize token generation or creature-heavy builds. By integrating this card, you can effectively support a life-gain strategy that outlasts opponents in long games. It's especially effective in decks that can create multiple creatures quickly such as white token strategies or green ramp decks. Utilize it when you have a full board to maximize life gain.

Is Feed The Clan competitive in modern gameplay?

Yes, Feed The Clan can be competitive in modern gameplay, particularly in casual and Commander formats. While it may not see as much play in high-tier competitive formats, its life-gain capabilities allow it to support various archetypes effectively. Good timing and the right deck synergy can turn the tide in matches, providing much-needed sustainability. Use it in settings that allow for strategic life gain.

What colors are associated with Feed The Clan?

Feed The Clan is primarily associated with the green color in Magic The Gathering. This reflects its connection to nature and represents life and vitality. Green decks often include many creatures, thus complementing the card's ability to gain life based on creature count. Consider incorporating it into green-centric strategies where you'll have plenty of creatures to either attack or hold defense.

What are the card's interactions with other cards?

Feed The Clan interacts well with other life-gain cards and those that produce multiple creatures. Cards that help generate token creatures, such as 'Elvish Promenade' or spells that summon creatures, will enhance its effectiveness. By pairing it with cards that add life gain mechanics, you can create a robust strategy that keeps you ahead on health while overwhelming opponents. Look for combinations that synergize effectively with token strategies.

Can Feed The Clan be used in multiplayer formats?

Absolutely! Feed The Clan is an excellent choice for multiplayer formats like Commander. In such settings, its ability to gain life based on the number of creatures makes it a valuable card for sustaining longer games where health management is crucial. In multi-opponent scenarios, this card can turn the tide by allowing you to outlive opponents through effective life gain while potentially being a target due to its strategic advantages.

What is the ideal timing for using Feed The Clan?

The ideal timing for using Feed The Clan is when you have a substantial board presence of creatures. Deploy it after you’ve successfully summoned multiple creatures, especially during an opponent's attack phase. By doing this, you maximize the life gain potential and maintain your board position while potentially gaining life points just when you need them for defense.

How does Feed The Clan compare to other popular life-gain cards?

Feed The Clan stands out among life-gain cards by tying its effectiveness directly to your creatures on board rather than offering a static life gain. Unlike other cards that provide fixed life increases, this spell scales with your battlefield presence, making it dynamic and impactful in specific scenarios. Cards like 'Angels Blessing' might give fixed health, but Feed The Clan has the advantage in token-heavy strategies by granting life in accordance with your active board.
