ACAllen Targets & Accessories Editorial Review
The Allen Company Steel Gong Target has quickly gained popularity among shooting enthusiasts for its durability, affordability, and versatility. Customers have reported excellent experiences with this product, highlighting its ability to withstand a range of calibers with minimal damage. Many users have used it at various distances, from close-range pistol shooting to distance rifle work, affirming that the target performs well across different scenarios. One user mentioned shooting the gong with everything from .22 to .50 caliber rounds. Remarkably, while the paint might chip off after repeated use, the AR500 steel holds up under pressure, resisting dents and significant damage; a near miraculous feat Considering the variety of ammunition used. There were a few exceptions, with one incident involving a 7mm round at 60 yards that did result in a piercing—although it was noted that this was somewhat expected given the distance and caliber. Users also appreciated its heavy-duty Construction and solid quality, making it a wise investment for both recreational and training purposes. However, some customers noted that the product omits a center mounting hole, which was depicted in the product photo, and suggested adhering to recommended shooting distances to maximize the target's longevity—especially for rifle shots. The feedback on aesthetics is also positive, with the white paint and red center dot being Considered visually appealing, providing a satisfying shooting experience even when the paint inevitably wears off. Overall, the Allen Company Steel Gong Target provides an excellent balance between price and performance, making it a favored choice for both casual and serious shooters. **
