TOPDON Code Readers & Scan Tools AD900BT Editorial Review
The TOPDON AD900BT Bidirectional Scan Tool has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from customers, particularly those in the automotive repair field. Users have praised its robust functionality and versatility, making it a strong contender in the midrange OBD2 scanner market. The Bluetooth connectivity adds a layer of convenience, allowing users to operate the scanner without being confined to the driver’s seat, a feature that received high marks for quick and reliable connections. Reviewers appreciate the extensive list of supported functions, including key programming, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) resets, and the ability to actuate solenoids among others. The scanner's ability to interface with multiple vehicle modules, particularly for more complex transmissions, has been highlighted as a decisive feature for those looking to perform in-depth diagnostics. Another notable feature is the user interface, which many users found intuitive and easy to navigate, despite some customers mentioning a learning curve associated with locating specific features in the menu system. The build quality of the device also earned commendations, with users noting its sturdy design and long battery life. The inclusion of a nice carrying case was a welcomed touch for on-the-go mechanics. While the TOPDON AD900BT excels in many areas, a few users pointed out limitations related to newer vehicles that require encrypted keys for programming, indicating it may not cater to every need on the market. Additionally, the absence of a kickstand was a minor drawback for some. Overall, the TOPDON AD900BT appears to be a reliable, feature-rich option for both DIY enthusiasts and professional mechanics alike, providing significant value for its price point and a commendable range of capabilities. **
