The Sony XM-GS6DSP has a ton of potential but falls short in execution. The amp has good power output and solid 2 ohm subwoofer output but the Bluetooth functionality is awful. The crossovers are also quite poor as they cause audible output at 1000Hz when set at 50 Hz. EQ and listening position controls only work in 2ch/BT mode. The lo pass filter causes muddy bass and there is no remote bass control knob. The product has a crystal clear signal without distortion and excellent SQ and build quality for its price. However, the heat generated by the product can be dangerous, requiring a powerful alternator in automotive or marine use. The cumbersome Sony Music Center App is the only way to pair the device, control the EQ/Fader/volume, and stream music. Buyers will need to go through several steps and use the app every time they turn on their car stereo, which is inconvenient. The Sony XM-GS6DSP is good for use in classic cars and small car installs.
