Aqara Presence Sensor FP2, mmWave Radar Wired Smart Motion Sensor, Zone Positioning, Multi-Person & Fall Detection, Supports HomeKit, Alexa, Google

The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 offers a range of features, including mmWave radar motion detection, zone positioning, and support for HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Home. While the setup process and user interface can be a bit clunky, once it's up and running, the sensor performs well and as advertised. One standout feature of the FP2 is its ability to detect when everyone has left a room, allowing for automation of turning off devices. This sets it apart from traditional motion sensors that can only detect when someone enters a space. The sensor is not compatible with Samsung SmartThings, which may be a drawback for some users. The included USB cable length is estimated to be between 5 to 10ft, providing sufficient reach for most installations. Customer reviews have been mixed. Some users have experienced difficulties during setup and have had trouble connecting the sensor to their devices, while others have found it easy to configure and integrate with platforms like Home Assistant. One recurring issue is the device's ability to accurately detect when someone has left a room. Some users have reported that the sensor occasionally detects "phantom" presence, preventing devices from turning off and requiring a manual reset through the app. This can be a frustrating experience and may not be suitable for those who require reliable automation. Overall, the Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 shows promise and has the potential to be a great product in the future. Its performance in detecting entry and continued presence is impressive, but improvements are needed to ensure accurate detection of exits from a room.
