Answer: You install the rubber stopper wright behind your clevis hook. This is to prevent the bottom of your hardware going in to far of your roller for your winch. -

Answer: Approx. 3 feet long. I do not use mine at all. It binds up the rope. -

Did you have to purchase an additional attachment to make it compatible with a steel cable winch? I can't easily install.
Answer: No, but...if you have a roller fairlead (used with wire cable) you may want to switch to a hawse (smooth aluminum slotted) fairlead. Roller fairleads can abrade or pinch synthetic rope and weaken them significantly.
