- High Quality Carbon Steel Professional honing steels are made of high carbon steel and diamond plating with hardness up to 80 HRC; using innovative Japanese technology to polish 3000 grit surface steel rods; which prevents the edge from being damaged when sharpening. And the honing steels is strictly magnetized to prevent metal particles from being inhaled or falling on food. Sophisticated Shape Design The 10 sharpening rod length is ideal for most size knives; the sword-like design is lightweight and portable without being bulky. Features an ergonomic, non-slip ABS handle and all-steel handle guard head; ensures your hands are protected while using. How to use the professional sharpening rod High carbon steel sharpening rod is very easy to use, place the heel of the knife on the top of the rod at an angle of preferably 20 degrees, sharpen from the handle to the tip of the knife, repeat 2-3 times, then turn to the other side of the tip until the blade is sharp. Daily Maintenance Instructions Although it is not necessary to wash the knife sharpening steel after each use of the honing rod, it is recommended that a non-woven cloth dipped in cooking oil be wiped over the body and dried; if washing with water, be sure to dry completely after washing and hang in the shade to dry; to remove metal particles and stains.
