Nutritionist's Take
The 'Thermometer Oral Mercury Free' is a health tool rather than a food product, thus it does not directly relate to nutritional benefits or dietary needs. However, its mercury-free design is a significant plus, as it minimizes health risks associated with mercury exposure, particularly for vulnerable populations such as children and pregnant women. The use of non-toxic materials aligns with a safer health care approach. Potential drawbacks include the necessity of proper maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate readings. While it does not offer nutritional benefits, reliable thermometers are essential for monitoring health, especially in managing fevers which can affect overall wellness. Overall, this thermometer is a sound choice for health-conscious consumers looking to avoid the hazards of traditional mercury thermometers.
GERATHERM Oral Editorial Review
The Geratherm Thermometer Oral Mercury Free is a manual thermometer that is slow but accurate. Some reviewers had difficulty getting a reading, with a few mentioning that it would not go below 98.6°F. One reviewer suggested shaking it in a sock to get a lower temperature reading. Another reviewer said that the blue line on the thermometer doesn't shake down, and that it's the second blue line that appears after taking a temperature reading that indicates the correct temperature. The thermometer takes at least 5 minutes but preferably 7–10 minutes to use. There were some negative reviews, with some reviewers saying that it was impossible to read or that it doesn't record temperatures correctly.
