Question:
I want to make a silicone cup that is flexible, is this stuff capable?
Answer: This stuff would work with the right mold, however, it may not be food safe. It is recommended to search for silicone cups used by hikers or contact the company for production purposes. -
Question:
Using a plaster mold, what do I coat the inside with? Also does it come out flexible or a hard plastic?
Answer: The plaster mold should be sealed with a spray paint or sealer. The cast-a-mold 25t is a soft flexible rubber and will not stick to anything except silicone. -
Question:
Do I need a drying chamber or does this cure at room temperature?
Answer: The material cures at room temperature in air. It is recommended to remove any air bubbles with a pressure pot. -
Question:
Can I use this for cold casting metal?
Answer: No, but there is a different product called cast-a-mold platinum which can handle higher temperatures. -
Question:
If I run out of material halfway through making a mold, can I add more later?
Answer: Yes, this rtv silicone mold rubber will adhere perfectly to itself. -
Question:
Will this stain or discolor raw wood?
Answer: No, but it may be troublesome to remove the rubber from the wood if it has many pores. Treated and smoothed out wood should work well. -
Question:
What is the ratio for the two parts? Can you provide an example?
Answer: The ratio is 10 to 1 by weight. For example, if you need a 50 gram mold, you would mix 50 grams of base to 5 grams of activator. -
Question:
Can I buy the catalyst separately if I lost some of it?
Answer: It is possible to buy the catalyst separately. It is recommended to contact the company directly. -
Question:
Would this work with any type of resin?
Answer: This product is primarily used for casting wax, but it should work well with most casting resins. -

Is it skin safe?
Answer: While it is not confirmed, there have been no reported skin reactions from using this product for making molds.
