Various Artists (Artist) Format: Audio CD Movie Soundtracks WCL553645.2 Editorial Review
The "100 Best Film Classics" collection has garnered a mix of admiration and criticism from users, reflecting a diverse range of expectations and experiences. Many customers laud the set for its rich compilation of music, emphasizing that it excels as a classical music collection utilized in films rather than a straightforward collection of movie themes. The high-quality orchestral and vocal renditions featured across the six discs receive particular praise, with listeners appreciating the depth and beauty of the selections. A few reviewers highlighted their enjoyment of the collection, noting the superb performances and excellent sound quality. Users have found the presentation of classical pieces, including notable works like Schubert's 8th Symphony, to be a rewarding listening experience, particularly when enjoyed through modern audio systems capable of playing MP3 downloads. The value of the collection is also acknowledged, making it a worthwhile addition for classical music enthusiasts. Conversely, some customers expressed dissatisfaction, feeling misled by the title. They anticipated a compilation predominantly featuring recognizable movie themes but found most of the selections to be classical pieces lacking direct ties to movies. Specific frustrations were voiced regarding the exclusion of iconic soundtracks in favor of classical background music, leading to a few users deeming it a poor investment. Overall, the "100 Best Film Classics" serves as a beautifully curated classical music collection, ideal for those who appreciate orchestral compositions and their cinematic ties—though it may not meet the expectations of those seeking iconic movie scores. **
