Answer: Don’t know. I think these vendors are pricing for the convenience factor. -

Are there instructions on exactly where to drill hole in the drum?
Answer: Unfortunately there are no instructions. I just eyeballed it and it worked well. -

What is the distance between mounting holes?
Answer: Hi Bryan, the holes are 1/2" apart center to center. -

The dampener I’m replacing has the mounting screw in the bottom hole. Will this still work if I swap places with the knob and screw?
Answer: I had the same issue. Swapping them will put the main knob at a bad angle. I thought about drilling a hole for the screw, but haven’t done it yet. It seems to stay in place pretty well with just the knob. -

Are there location measurement directions for adding to snare without existing dampener?
Answer: My experience - no directions/instructions. I’ve purchased three of these over the last year or so. There’s a YouTube video but it was not helpful. I’m happy with the results on the one I installed-basically you figure out the logical location including “height” inside the drum to allow room for adjustment, and mark two holes for drilling. It’s the best damper in my opinion but drilling through a drum can be nerve wracking with no instructions.
