The TRU-SPEC Boonie is a great wide-brimmed, lightweight hat that provides excellent sun protection. It is made from heavy cotton twill and is not waterproof, but can be made waterproof with Scrotch Guard spray. There are no snaps on the sides of the hat, but the chin strap can be used to hold them up. It is recommended to measure your head to determine your hat size or visit a hat shop for assistance. Reviews indicate that the hats run true to size, but there are large gaps in size choices. Some users have resized the hat by rinsing in hot water and putting through a hot cycle in the dryer. The camo band may not be even, but this is not noticeable once twigs are installed. The TRU-SPEC Boonie is available in a nice digital woodland color and pattern.
