How do I open the ring to attach it for my dog's leash ID?
Answer: You might want to look into the size of the opening and if the collar charm has a wide part to get over because they can be thick there. Anything below 6mm-10mm might be too small. I also usually see split rings on collars. They are the ones that look like mini key rings. This kind will open up with one good pull. -

What gauge are these rings?
Answer: They are quite thick, thicker than 18, but I don't have thicker wires to compare so I'm not sure of the number. For me, it was thicker than I preferred for necklaces and earrings. They are .8 mm thick. -

Answer: The gauge of these jumprings is 1.5mm which is equivalent to 17 AWG. -

Will these rings work for soldering?
Answer: No, stainless steel is not good for soldering.
