Will this cross over to a grassy and patio area? Is is totally staked?
Answer: Yes, it would. The rods that slip through the channels on the sides of each panel to connect the panels can be pushed into the ground a little, but do not have to pushed into the ground. You can use this indoors too where it just sits on a hard surface. So I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work outdoors where part is on patio, part on grass. I have used it both ways, inside and out. When outside, I’ve used it in a slight slope, and because each panel is individual but held together by rods through channels on the sides, it accommodates the change in slope very well. So what you describe would be comparable—slightly different level on grass versus patio. -

Are posts sharp at the bottom to push into the ground?
Answer: No, they are not sharp. They will go into the ground outdoors if you push them in, but they are not pointed or sharp to scratch floors indoors. I have used mine in both indoor and outdoor settings.
