Nutritionist's Take
Sodium lactate is regarded as a safe and effective preservative that can prolong the shelf life of various food products. It is derived from lactic acid and is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA. In its 60% concentration, sodium lactate can help maintain moisture and enhance flavor, making it an interesting ingredient for food manufacturers. However, nutritionists advise caution for individuals with dietary restrictions such as those on low-sodium diets, as high concentrations can contribute to sodium intake. While it has minimal calories and serves as an electrolyte, its primary role is preservative. Overall, sodium lactate can be a healthy choice within moderation, but consumers should consider their overall sodium consumption and any health conditions before use.
Traverse Bay Bath and Body Sodium sodlac16 Editorial Review
This Sodium Lactate product has mixed reviews. Some customers found it to be a great value and works well in their soap making. However, some customers experienced spillage and found it difficult to pour evenly. One customer complained that more than half of the product was missing, while another liked the small bottle but suggested purchasing a larger one. Despite these mixed reviews, customers agreed that the product worked well in making homemade soap and helped it to last longer. It is made in the USA and comes in a safety-sealed container.
