Metallor Hardware HS 008 Editorial Review
The Metallor Roller String Trees String Retainer Guides are a set of two chrome guides that are compatible with Strat and Tele style electric guitars. According to the FAQ, they should fit any Strat or Tele headstock in replacement of existing trees, however, they may not fit Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray Bass guitars. The rollers rotate together, but do little movement except for when putting new strings on. The reviews were mixed with some customers stating that they were pleased with the product as it looked classier than tin string trees and had nice bearing movement, while others were displeased with the poor execution of the product, with issues ranging from screws stripping out during installation, poor rolling, one string affecting the other, and cheap, soft alloy material. However, some reviewers recommended the product for use with their Affinity Stratocasters.
