Wye Oak Format: Vinyl Alternative Rock Editorial Review
**** Wye Oak's latest album, *The Louder I Call The Faster It Runs*, continues to solidify their reputation for crafting innovative and engaging music. The album stands out for its ethereal electro-pop soundscape, characterized by frontwoman Jenn Wasner's enchanting vocals, which convey a sense of introspection that resonates deeply with listeners. The contrast between roaring melodies and quiet moments creates a dynamic auditory experience, offering both calming and energetic moments that invite repeated listening. Critics have noted the album's thoughtful nature, suggesting it is a natural progression from previous works like *Shriek* and *Tween*. While it may not boast an obvious standout hit comparable to "Watching the Waiting," standout tracks such as "Symmetry," "Join," and "Lifer" exemplify Wye Oak's Consistent ability to produce beautiful music that captivates. Many listeners find it particularly rewarding after multiple listens, uncovering layers of creativity and melody that enhance their appreciation of the work over time. Despite some minor criticisms regarding track diversity and occasional underwhelming moments, *The Louder I Call The Faster It Runs* is regarded as one of the key albums of 2018, with fans expressing eagerness to explore more of Wye Oak’s discography. Overall, the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with listeners celebrating the band’s evolution and hoping for even more musical treasures from them in the future. **
