The Premier Gear PG-8406 Professional Grade New Alternator has garnered a varied reception from customers, primarily due to its performance and the challenges associated with installation. Many customers express satisfaction with the alternator's efficacy, noting that it resolved issues such as battery warning lights and resulted in noticeable improvements like steady electrical performance and smoother engine operation. Positive feedback highlights that the product has performed well over months of use, with users appreciating the significant cost savings compared to OEM alternatives. However, the installation process has been a point of contention. Multiple reviews indicate that removing and installing the alternator on vehicles such as the 2006 and 2007 Ford Focus can be quite labor-intensive and complicated. Users recommend viewing online tutorials for guidance and suggest that Prospective buyers be prepared for a challenging installation, particularly since it often involves maneuvering the engine for better access. On the downside, one particularly negative review raises concerns about the durability and quality of the alternator, mentioning repeated issues with battery cables melting and ultimately leading to a car breakdown. This highlights a potential inConsistency in product reliability among customers. Overall, the Premier Gear PG-8406 offers good performance at a competitive price, but Prospective buyers should be aware of the possible complications during installation and the risk of longevity issues based on some customer experiences. **
