Games Editorial Review
Trapped in a Video Game: The Complete Series is a collection of five books that features an engaging storyline that will keep kids interested in reading. The short chapters and straightforward writing style make it an ideal book for reluctant readers who may find longer books intimidating and laborious. The books come with small activities at the end of each book, ranging from drawing instructions to small quizzes and supplementary information about the book's themes. Unfortunately, some kids may not be interested in these activities. One aspect that sets this series apart is the author's commitment to his readers. Readers could contact the author and ask him questions; he would sometimes reply with personalized videos. The boxed set also comes with a sealed envelope containing a QR code, which leads to a web announcement video for another novel series and some bonus materials. This gimmick encouraged readers to finish all five books and helped them get excited about reading. Overall, Trapped in a Video Game: The Complete Series is an excellent, engaging collection of books for kids who are starting to explore the joys of reading.
