IRWIN Forstner Drill Bits Editorial Review
The IRWIN 1966938 Irwin Marples Wood Drilling Forstner Bit is a dependable and high-quality tool that is perfect for drilling clean and precise holes. The bit has an overall length of 3-1/2" with a shank just under 3/8" and a pilot that sticks out about another 1/8". It is made in China and fits any drill with a chuck size of 3/8 inch or larger. Customer experience and reception: - Positive feedback about the size availability, as some customers found it difficult to find the size they needed at hardware stores. - A few negative feedback stated that the bit was dull upon receipt, but this could be a defective or rare case. - Some customers noted the absence of a screw in the middle and others appreciated the fact that it doesn't have a corkscrew lead screw on it. - One customer experienced splintering around the edges while drilling into soft cedar, which may not necessarily be the bit's fault. - Overall, most customers were satisfied with the product's performance and quality.
