Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What is the capacity of the Bodum Isle of Man French Press?
Answer: The Bodum Isle of Man French Press has a capacity of 12 fluid ounces, which is designed to brew approximately three cups of coffee. This makes it perfect for personal use or for serving a small group of friends during a casual get-together. The three-cup size can deliver a rich and flavorful coffee experience while also being compact enough to fit in snug kitchen spaces. -
Question:
What materials are used in the Bodum Isle of Man French Press?
Answer: The Bodum Isle of Man French Press is constructed from durable borosilicate glass and features a sturdy plastic frame. Borosilicate glass is known for its ability to withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for brewing hot beverages. The plastic frame ensures that the press is lightweight and easy to handle while providing protection to the glass from accidental breaks. -
Question:
How does the French Press brewing method work?
Answer: The French Press brewing method involves steeping coarsely ground coffee in hot water before pressing down a filter screen. Start by adding your coffee grounds to the press, pouring in hot water, and letting it steep for about four minutes. Finally, press down the plunger to separate the brewed coffee from the grounds, resulting in a bold and rich cup of coffee. -
Question:
Is the Bodum Isle of Man French Press dishwasher safe?
Answer: Yes, the Bodum Isle of Man French Press is dishwasher safe. The detachable parts can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher, making maintenance simple and hassle-free. For those who prefer washing by hand, it's also easy to clean using mild soap and water. Regular cleaning will keep the press in perfect condition and the coffee tasting fresh. -
Question:
Can I brew tea in the Bodum Isle of Man French Press?
Answer: Absolutely! The Bodum Isle of Man French Press can be used to brew tea in addition to coffee. Simply place loose leaf tea in the press, pour in hot water, and let it steep to your desired strength. This versatility allows you to enjoy different beverages, making it a valuable addition to your kitchen. -
Question:
What type of coffee grind works best with this French Press?
Answer: Coarse coffee grounds are ideal for use in the Bodum Isle of Man French Press. This grind size prevents clogging of the filter and allows for optimal extraction of flavors during brewing. Since the French Press steeps coffee rather than using a drip method, coarser grounds will yield a clean and robust cup while avoiding muddy sediments. -
Question:
Can I use the Bodum Isle of Man French Press for cold brew coffee?
Answer: Yes, you can certainly use the Bodum Isle of Man French Press for making cold brew coffee. Combine coarsely ground coffee with cold water in the press, allow it to steep in the refrigerator overnight, and then press down the plunger. This method produces a smooth, less acidic coffee that can be enjoyed over ice or mixed with your favorite creamers. -
Question:
Does the Bodum Isle of Man French Press have a filter?
Answer: Yes, the Bodum Isle of Man French Press comes equipped with a stainless steel mesh filter. This filter lets essential oils and fine particles pass through while effectively separating the brewed coffee from the grounds. This design enhances the flavor and body of the coffee, giving you a rich and aromatic experience with every brew. -
Question:
What is the best way to maintain my Bodum Isle of Man French Press?
Answer: To maintain the Bodum Isle of Man French Press, it's important to clean it thoroughly after each use. Disassemble the components, wash them with mild soap and water, or place them in the dishwasher. Additionally, avoid using abrasive materials that can scratch the surface. Regular maintenance will enhance the longevity of your French Press and ensure consistent coffee quality. -

Bodum French Presses 10948-04 Editorial Review
The Bodum Brazil Three Cup French Press Coffee Maker is a compact unit that produces a single mugful of coffee with each brew. The product is made using a 3-piece stainless steel, temperature-safe borosilicate glass beaker and dishwasher safe plastic. The screen assembly sits 1/8" from the bottom of the press, making it unsuitable for those who use the press to foam milk for their coffee. There are replacement glass beakers available for the Bodum Brazil French Press, but unfortunately, the carafe is not microwaveable. While the product may not be suitable for everyone, it is ideal for single-person coffee and for those who want a quick and easy way to make their coffee.
