The Hornady Rapid Safe 2700KP single gun safe is American-made and has 2 RFID stickers and a key fob. It can be installed on either side of a car console as the bladder can be switched, but this can cause the keypad to be upside down. While the safe is not insulated for fire protection, it is constructed of sturdy steel to provide safety from unwanted hands. Most firearms should fit in this safe, and the pistol is held flat when the rapid safe opens. Although the safe can spring open about halfway, the lid can be opened fully with a hand. Customers reported that the safe is heavy and secure, and its RFID feature works great, making it easy to operate. However, one customer complained that the safe failed when it was needed most during an emergency.
