    Answer: Yes, it is safer than small outlet plug protectors which are a choking hazard

    Answer: Yes, it plugs into the top receptacle of a duplex outlet without tools or expertise and is universally compatible with all duplex outlet sizes.
  • Question: Can it only be plugged in with cord pointing down? i need one to run up the wall from the ac outlet.

    Answer: Yes, currently the orientation and design of the device is for attachment to a duplex outlet such that the sleek socket cord exits the ultra thin plug pointing down or towards the floor. We are working on a design for a device that exits towards the ceiling but that model will not be available for some time.
  • Question: Does it come in a quad outlet cover version?

    Answer: Not yet. In the pipeline though.
  • Question: Will this work for those that need to plugged directly to the power source, meaning the wall outlet instead of a power strip or extender?

    Answer: This device is a 9 foot cord with the ultra thin plug on one end and a 3 outlet power strip on the other end. The ultra thin plug resembles a blank outlet cover which in.this case conceals the entire outlet at the wall source, there's no ability to plug any device into the source wall outlet once this device is attached to the source all outlet -- only to the 3 outlet power strip.
  • Question: What is the difference between the Child Proofing and the regular options?

    Answer: The Child proofing version comes with 8 feet of protective adhesive cord clips that safeguard against toddlers accessing and chewing dangerous electrical cords (whereas The flagship device comes with double sided adhesive strips to neatly secure the cord against the wall). The Child proofing device is literally the best protection available for toddlers and pets as it is the only electrical safety device that conceals both the underlying outlet and the dangerous cords while permitting full use of underlying outlets.
  • Question: Can a power strip be plugged into it?

    Answer: We do not recommend that you plug another power strip or another extension cord into any of the 3 outlets of the sleek socket. Per the sleek socket warning label attached to the sleek socket device, another extension cord should not be plugged into our device as this will cause overloading of your circuit. Consumers should follow voltage, amperage and wattage guidelines to prevent accidents. For this device, as noted in the listing description and the device packaging, Maximum amperage: 13 Maximum volts: 125 Maximum wattage: 1625
  • Question: What gauge and type of wire is used in the cord? with max amperage of 13, i am guessing 18 awg stranded copper

    Answer: For this model, 16 gauge (and here are the full specs: 13A, 125V, 1625W, SPT-2, 16AWG). For our surge protector model, 14 gauge (and here are the full specs: SPT-3, 14AWG, 125V, 15A, 1875W).
  • Question: So where does the strip go then? Seems still an issue for pets to have access too.

    Answer: I use mine for my TV so the plug goes behind the TV cabinet. So I'd assume behind a piece of furniture.
  • Question: Does this product contain leaded solder?

    Answer: Pursuant to the UL safety certification of our products, including warning label, as required by California's Proposition 65, extension cords are required to indicate wording regarding the potential impacts of lead with respect to use of extension cords. As such, we comply with the warning labeling requirement with the Proposition 65 warning language. California is the only State that imposes this special requirement based on the device, i.e., extension cords, versus the specific components of our Sleek Socket products.
