Grizzly Industrial Bench Vises H3394 Editorial Review
The Grizzly Industrial T10157 Pipe Vise is a practical tool that can be mounted to a wall, post, or bench with lag screws. It is well made and reasonably priced. While the parallel sides of the base are about 7.5" across, it may not be compatible with a 6" vise as it's cast iron and using too much vise tension could crack it. Some have mounted it onto the back of a truck or anchor it to a plywood piece. The handle stops might not stay threaded on, but it's fine for black iron. One reviewer finds that it works well for deburring and threading 1" rigid conduit, while another thinks it's suitable for cutting but not much for threading. It looks great mounted on a truck, and some have not used it yet but will write back after using it. One customer has been able to make clamps themselves using this vise. It cannot hold tightly enough for 1/4" pipe, but using a wooden shim can get you to that size.
