    Answer: You should be able to remove the old motor from that plate and remount this motor in its place. Normally the grilles attach to that plate too via spring clip

Nutone Fan Motors Editorial Review

This NuTone fan motor is a great solution for those with noisy or dead fan motors in 90's era NuTone bathroom exhaust fans, as it is a drop-in replacement that keeps the housing and wiring and just replaces the motor and fan as a single part. Three screws for the motor into the housing and then three screws to put the assembly back into the unit complete the installation process. This product is a perfect fit and exact version of a fan motor that was installed in 1997 when my house was remodelled. Customers have also reported that it is compatible with Nutone QT-90N-B. While some customers have reported that the unit was far from quiet, it was better than the 30-year-old motor it replaced.
