It cannot be interchanged with the old-style cap (Perko fig. 540 pat. no. 5275213 and 5327946) as not vented correctly, it can cause an explosion. The product is for gas fuel even though the product image shows "water." It automatically vents, but some customers had issues with it and changed it back to separate vent and filler. The mounting hole for the filler and vent can fit through a single round hole, but there could be issues with fuel intake. However, it makes for a perfect replacement for an old broken fuel cap.
