Hilmor Outdoor Thermometers Editorial Review
The Hilmor Dual Readout Thermometer has garnered a mix of reviews from HVAC technicians over the past two years, highlighting its strengths and vulnerabilities. Many users express high levels of satisfaction with the thermometer's intuitive design and functionality, particularly noting its accuracy and ease of use. The ability to self-calibrate is a standout feature that sets the Hilmor apart from other thermometers, allowing users to maintain accurate readings without returning the unit to the manufacturer. Users appreciate the thermometer's durability, showcasing its resilience in various weather conditions, from freezing temperatures to rain and snow. The included clamp-on temperature probes are frequently praised for their secure attachment to pipes, facilitating quick and efficient readings of superheat and subcool. Additionally, the clear display with a green backlight is a welcomed feature, making it easy to read in dimly lit areas. However, the product is not without its downsides. Some users have pointed out issues with the wiring connected to the clamps, which can be prone to cracking after extended use. Additionally, there have been reports of inConsistent temperature readings, with a few users receiving defective units out of the box. Despite these concerns, many technicians still recommend the Hilmor thermometer as a reliable tool in their HVAC toolkit, asserting that the benefits often outweigh the negatives. In conclusion, while the Hilmor Dual Readout Thermometer excels in accuracy, convenience, and durability, Prospective buyers should Consider the potential for variability in product quality. **
