MARTIN Acoustic Guitar Strings Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Martin Originals Extra Light 80/20 Bronze Strings** The Martin Originals Extra Light 80/20 Bronze strings have garnered a largely positive reception among users, especially those who play fingerstyle guitar or appreciate a crisp sound. Guitarists of varying skill levels have reported that these strings offer a remarkable tonal quality that rivals more expensive counterparts like D'Addario, often producing a warmer and mellower sound than initially expected. Many users initially approached these strings with hesitations, worried about their brighter tonal characteristics. However, the strings proved their worth by delivering a chime-like resonance, enhancing clarity while still settling into a rich and smooth sound after a brief break-in period. This adaptability appeals especially to those who may be switching from phosphor bronze strings and fear losing that beloved mellow tone. As several reviews have noted, the duration and durability of the strings are commendable, with guitarists reporting that they withstand extensive use without falling flat or breaking. The playability of the Martin strings is another standout feature; they are often described as soft and gentle on the fingers, requiring little pressure to fret. This aspect is particularly appreciated by fingerstyle players who prioritize comfort alongside sound quality. Overall, the Martin Originals Extra Light 80/20 Bronze strings represent a strong choice for guitarists seeking a durable, high-quality string that delivers on both sound and playability—ideal for a range of musical genres from bluegrass to classical. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, these strings offer quality that justifies their price point, making them a worthy addition to any guitarist’s toolkit. **
