Quercetti Drums & Percussion Editorial Review
The Quercetti Super Saxoflute Customizable Musical Instrument allows children to create their own unique musical instrument by connecting the different pieces. While it can be used with the Tubation set, the flutes should be kept away from sand to prevent damage to the mouthpiece. The instrument can play notes of the scale, but the placement of fingers on certain holes is required for accurate notes. It is also possible to experiment with the components to create an instrument that resembles a tuba. The trumpet ends can serve as funnels for water or sand. Unfortunately, replacements for the mouthpieces are not readily available, but contacting Quercetti directly may help. The age guidelines of 3-6 years old and the choking hazard warning are accurate. Cleaning the pieces can be done in the dishwasher on a low temperature, or by hand washing with warm water and mild soap. The instrument produces a sound similar to a recorder, and can be quite loud if blown with force. The toy is not compatible with regular trumpet mouthpieces.
