The French press is designed to maintain the right brewing temperature and is not meant to store coffee after brewing. It is made in the USA, but it is unclear where it is manufactured. The tight fit of the plunger keeps the coffee grounds down and out of the coffee. The coffee brewed in the French press has a smoother taste and more of the coffee's oils are left in the coffee, giving it more flavor. The product should not be put on a burner and can be cleaned with stainless steel cleaner. However, the stainless steel used in this French press contains lead (45 ppm), which may pose a health hazard.
