Xero Shoes Men's Z-Trek Sport Sandals - Zero Drop, Lightweight & Packable
The Xero Shoes Z-Trek Sandals are water-resistant, not waterproof, with a sole that has 5.5mm of FeelTrue rubber, providing a "barefoot+protection" feel. There is no leather on the straps, and they are vegan. The sandals are not suitable for running a marathon or playing beach volleyball, but they can be used for paddle boarding, swimming, and walking on sand. The fit for very narrow feet can be determined by printing a template that shows the shoe size. The heel may slide forward a bit when walking down steep grades, and the sizing runs small. The ring on the back strap is a single point of failure that could lead to the sandal eventually breaking. The sandals have a lip around the heel that can rub against flat feet, causing discomfort, and can cause Achilles Tendinopathy and Plantar Fasciitis. Some customers had issues with durability—some shoes fell apart after three weeks, while others broke after 50 miles. However, customers who were comfortable with minimalist-type shoes found the Xero Shoes Z-Trek Sandals to be lightweight, flexible, and provided adequate protection for the bottom of the feet during hikes and walks.
