This premium SAW filter and ultra-low noise LNA module is specially designed for NOAA GOESLRITHRITHRPT applications, providing exceptional performance and reliability. With a center frequency of 1688MHz, the SAWbird GOES offers a high attenuation outside of the 80MHz bandpass region, ensuring optimal signal quality. Within the bandpass region, it provides a minimum of 30dB of gain, allowing you to capture clear and detailed images of weather patterns. The SAWbird+ series features two ultra-low-noise LNAs sandwiched around a custom-designed, high-performance SAW filter.
This design ensures maximum signal amplification and minimizes external interference. Each delicate LNA is protected by two EMI shields, guaranteeing an uninterrupted and precise satellite signal. With the SAWbird GOES, you have the flexibility to power the module using three different options. For SDRs with a bias-tee capability, such as the NESDR SMArTee XTR, you can power the module through the SMA output port using 3V-5V DC.
Alternatively, if your SDR does not have a bias-tee, you can use the external power options through the microUSB port or the power input header. Please note that although the SAWbird GOES is protected against overvoltage conditions, it is recommended to use the device within the specified voltage range of 3.3V-5.5V DC. Exceeding this range may result in long-term damage, which is not covered under the standard 2-year warranty. To ensure the best performance, we highly recommend using the SAWbird GOES with the NESDR SMArTee XTR v2, as it contains a bias-tee capable of powering the module with bias power.
